Keene, NH––After a six-year project of gathering stories from around the Monadnock region, the Monadnock Institute, located at Franklin Pierce College, has amassed a collection of 30 to 40 stories that capture the past and celebrate the present in the Monadnock Region. The project’s goal is to publish these stories in an anthology titled “Where the Mountain Stands Alone: Stories of Place in the Monadnock Region” in the spring of 2006.
The Monadnock Institute enlisted the help of Church & Main, Inc., a strategic communications firm located in Keene, NH, to design a brochure and a postcard to raise awareness of the project and encourage potential contributors to support the addition of full-color to enhance the anthology.
“We have a very special collection of stories that we have gathered from people all over the region, stories that have ‘dirt under their nails’ and capture the spirit of this place,” stated John Harris, Director of Monadnock Institute of Nature, Place & Culture. “This is a book that will be cherished and passed on for generations, and we look forward to sharing it with those who treasure the Monadnock Region. We thank Church & Main, Inc. for their support on this project.”
“We were honored to be able to help the Monadnock Institute,” says Elizabeth Brown, President of Church & Main. “The Monadnock region is a special place, and this project really celebrates what we all love about this place and its people. It’s important that these stories be documented so our rich history can be shared and celebrated.”
“Where the Mountain Stands Alone” will be available in the Spring 2006 from University Press of New England.
